Continuing student PINs are automatically assigned, re-enrolling students&#8217; PINs are automatically assigned after readmission in the nightly process, and new student PINs are assigned at New to Blue Orientation by the Scheduling Center or manually by their advisor. Students can see their assigned registration time on PipelineMT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-compact-list\">\n<li><strong>Assigning a PIN<\/strong>: The advisor can manually assign PINs to\u00a0<em>new<\/em>\u00a0students who do not attend New to Blue Orientation. To add a PIN, verify in Banner first that they\u2019ve been admitted (screen SAADCRV). Then go to the screen SPAAPIN and enter the term, the PIN, and the process name \u201cTREG.\u201d Click save.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Registration Errors and Holds<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Refer to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/registration\/registration-guide\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"17\">Registration Guide<\/a>\u00a0for a comprehensive listing of all potential errors and holds a student can encounter, it provides information on how to resolve and who to contact for each one. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Session Types<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-compact-list\">\n<li><strong>Summer<\/strong>: Several sessions offered. Click&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/registration\/summer\/\">here&nbsp;<\/a>to review session options and other FAQ.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Full<\/strong>: Course offered for the complete academic term (Fall, Spring, or Summer).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Accelerated<\/strong>: A1 and A2 8-week sessions offered during a Fall or Spring semester.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Winter<\/strong>: Accelerated term offered between Fall and Spring. Requirements are found on PipelineMT under the &#8220;Advisors&#8221; page, as well as in the New to Blue Orientation Argos reports. These course section types are indicated by the letter &#8220;K&#8221; on PipelineMT course search. Students must take all required\u00a0prescribed courses their first semester and pass. Those failing a prescribed course must retake it the subsequent semester. They cannot drop a prescribed course without the University Studies Chair&#8217;s approval. Strict attendance policies are in place. Students needing more than one prescribed course will also have to enroll in a prescribed UNIV 1010K. Prescribed courses can carry elective credit or satisfy General Education requirements and are used to compute the overall GPA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-compact-list\">\n<li>See the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/academic-advising\/handouts\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"165\">Student Handouts \/ Printouts<\/a>&nbsp;page for a printable list of all prescribed course registration restrictions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contact\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/w1.mtsu.edu\/university-college\/university-studies\/index.php\">University Studies<\/a>\u00a0for specific student inquiries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Student Registration<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Students will register themselves using PipelineMT. They can search course schedules through \u201cLook up Classes\u201d or through Schedule Planner, both found on Pipeline&#8217;s Registration and Student Records page. View a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/academic-advising\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/156\/2024\/09\/Registration-Overview.pdf\" data-type=\"attachment\" data-id=\"100\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">printable student registration overview<\/a>&nbsp;or watch this&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/vF9dvlNswTs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">registration video tutorial<\/a>.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/registration\/waitlist\/\">Wait Lists<\/a>:<\/strong>&nbsp;Select courses offer a waitlist feature for closed sections.&nbsp; If waitlist seats are available on a closed course, the student will receive a closed class error message with the option to join the waitlist after attempting to register for it. If a seat opens, an email is sent to their MTMail, along with a deadline to add the class.&nbsp; If the deadline passes, the seat is offered to the next person on the waitlist. For Fall and Spring, waitlists are closed the day before the purge and are then purged the day after the purge at noon.&nbsp; For summer, waitlists are purged the Friday before the term begins.&nbsp; These dates are listed on the Waitlist website.&nbsp; Once the waitlists are closed, the student will still receive a Closed \u2013 0 Waitlist error.&nbsp; This is because the course had a waitlist, but that option is no longer valid.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pay\/Confirm Classes:<\/strong>\u00a0After students register, they are not confirmed in courses until they have paid and confirmed their planned attendance. Once\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/tuition\/\">tuition<\/a>\u00a0statements are available, students can log in to PipelineMT to accept any financial aid offers and confirm them. If they do not pay\/confirm by a specified fee deadline, they will be \u201cpurged\u201d from their classes.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/dates\/\">View deadlines<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Drop\/Add\/Late Registration:<\/strong>\u00a0Students who want to register or add classes on PipelineMT\u00a0<em>after<\/em>\u00a0the term&#8217;s deadline\u00a0must get approval from the course professor(s) and chair(s). The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/registration\/dropadd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">form<\/a>\u00a0must be turned into MT One Stop by the student within two business days of the department signature or new signatures will be required. All signatures expire on Census, no matter what date the form was signed.\u00a0 Forms signed before Census will need new signatures after Census. Deadlines for each part of term can be found in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/registration\/registration-guide\/\">Registration Guide<\/a>.\u00a0Drop\/Add forms should be brought to the MT One Stop by the student to be processed.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Purge:<\/strong>\u00a0If students do not pay by a specified date, they will be removed or \u201cpurged\u201d from their registered classes, and will have to register again. Their seats will be opened up to other students or students on the waitlist. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Registration Support:<\/strong>&nbsp;Students can register by viewing class lists on PipelineMT and adding them to their schedule. However, there are additional resources if students need it.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em><strong>Schedule Planner:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/em>Found in PipelineMT under &#8220;Registration Tools.&#8221; Students will be taken to a page where they can add all preferred courses and then view all possible schedules from their choices. If a students finds a schedule on Schedule Planner, they must copy the CRNs into PipelineMT&#8217;s \u201cAdd or Drop\u201d page. This site does not register the students. Share this&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=wiKgbKwTTqc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">video tutorial<\/a>&nbsp;with students, created by advisor Bonnie Mccarty.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>Summer Registration:<\/em>&nbsp;<\/strong>If a student will be taking two classes in summer back-to-back, where the first class is a prerequisite for a later offered class, the student will email&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:register@mtsu.edu\">register@mtsu.edu<\/a>&nbsp;for registration assistance.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/orientation\/\">New to Blue Orientation<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All new incoming students (freshmen and transfer) must attend a New to Blue Orientation session. New to Blue Orientation helps new undergraduate students make the transition into the university; prepares new students for MTSU\u2019s educational opportunities; and initiates the integration of new students into the intellectual, cultural, and social climate of the institution.
