These operations can haul troops and carry supplies, as well as provide quick-strike and long-range target engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Job Duties<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"is-style-compact-list wp-block-list\">\n<li>Coordinate employment of aviation Soldiers and aircraft at all levels<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Command and control aviation platoons<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide aviation coordination<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Instruct aviation skills at service schools and combat training centers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Training<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Job training for an aviation officer requires completing aviation school, where you study rotary-winged aircrafts and basic flying skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of the skills you\u2019ll learn are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"is-style-compact-list wp-block-list\">\n<li>Basic flight physics and flight systems<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Emergency procedures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Flight map drawing and reading<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You will then begin Basic Combat Training in combat flight skills that are used by Army pilots, and eventually specialize in one of the following helicopters:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"is-style-compact-list wp-block-list\">\n<li>UH-72 Lakota<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>MH-6 Little Bird,\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>UH-60 Black Hawk<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>AH-64 Apache<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CH-47 Chinook<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Helpful Skill<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"is-style-compact-list wp-block-list\">\n<li>Self-discipline, confidence and intelligence<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Physically and mentally fit to perform under pressure<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to make quick decisions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Capable of bearing numerous responsibilities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Overview Aviation officers coordinate\/lead operations using Army helicopters such as UH-72 Lakota, MH-6 Little Bird, UH-60 Black Hawk, CH-47 Chinook and the AH-64 Apache.
