The college elective for undergraduate and graduate students that provides unrivalled leadership training for success in any career field.&nbsp; If you have a passion for it, you can find a place in the Army as an officer and get the training you need to turn that passion into a career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Does ROTC Work? Enrolling in ROTC<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Incoming Freshmen<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re an incoming freshman at MTSU, you can enroll in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/5RMowl5GCwo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MS1010<\/a>\u00a0as an elective.\u00a0 Our program is compatible with all majors on campus, and there is no Army obligation for taking this class.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">College Students<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re interested in enrolling in Army ROTC and you are already enrolled in college, you can start by talking to our program&#8217;s&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:rotcrecruiter@mtsu.edu\">Enrollment Eligibility Officer<\/a>&nbsp;about taking the Army ROTC basic elective course and about the incentives available, including opportunities to compete for two- and three-year merit-based scholarships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Transfer&nbsp;and Graduate Students<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have two years remaining in college or graduate school, you are still eligible to enroll in Army ROTC.&nbsp; Talk to our program&#8217;s&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:rotcrecruiter@mtsu.edu\">Enrollment Eligibility Officer<\/a>&nbsp;about ways to join our program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cadet Initial Entry Training<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This course is for those college students who want to complete Army ROTC training in two years.&nbsp; To qualify, you must complete a challenging and motivating 28-day training program at Fort Knox, Kentucky.&nbsp; Upon completion of Cadet Initial Entry Training (Basic Camp), graduates return to campus prepared to enter the Advanced Course.&nbsp; If you think you might be interested in this opportunity over this summer, talk to our&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:rotcrecruiter@mtsu.edu\">Enrollment Officer<\/a>&nbsp;soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Enlisted Soldiers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are an enlisted Soldier in the Army and interested in becoming an officer, contact us to find out more about opportunities for Soldiers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Simultaneous Membership Program allows you to attend ROTC and serve in the U.S. Army Reserve or Army National Guard at the same time.&nbsp; It gives you the opportunity for additional training and experience.&nbsp; Cadets serve as officer trainees in the Army Reserve or National Guard while competing in college.&nbsp; You can earn Army Reserve\/National Guard pay and benefits in addition to your Army ROTC allowances.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What Does ROTC Stand For?
