Follow the instructions for each&nbsp;requirement.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>If the requirement needs a form to be completed, click on the link (requirement name) to start the online form (Dynamic Form).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If a parent is required to complete a Dynamic Form, only one of the <strong>parents<\/strong> listed on the FAFSA application must create a Dynamic Forms account to complete and sign their section of the online form. If the parents\u2019 family size was not changed on the 2025-2026 FAFSA from the number of dependents reported on parents\u2019 2023 tax return and was not manually entered, the 2025-2026 Verification of Family Size for Dependent Student form will be waived, unless we have reason to believe there is conflicting information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If required, list the full name and age of each family member who was included in the family size on the FAFSA.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Family Size includes the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The student<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The student&#8217;s parents, even if the student is not living with them. Exclude a parent who has died or is not living in the household because of separation or divorce. Include a parent who is on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces apart from the family.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The student&#8217;s siblings if the following are true:\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>They live with student&#8217;s parents,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They receive more than half of their support from the student&#8217;s parents, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They will continue to receive more than half their support from the student&#8217;s parents during the award year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other persons if the following are true:\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>They live with the student&#8217;s parents,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They will receive more than half of their support from the student&#8217;s parents, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They will continue to receive more than half of their support from the student&#8217;s parents during the award year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong>\u00a0Beginning with the 2024-25 FAFSA, family size must align with the requirements set by the IRS for claiming dependents.\u00a0For instance, if a parent can claim a person as a dependent on their current year tax return, that person can be included in family size on FAFSA.\u00a0Unborn children cannot be included in family size.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mtsu-blocks-expandable-item accordion-item expandable-heading expandable-heading-lightblock\"><h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"headingtax-filers-how-to-document-2023-income\"><button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapsedependentsubtax-filers-how-to-document-2023-income\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapsedependentsubtax-filers-how-to-document-2023-income\">Tax Filers: How to Document 2023 income.\u00a0\u00a0<\/button><\/h2><div id=\"collapsedependentsubtax-filers-how-to-document-2023-income\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse expandable-content expandable-content-lightblock\" aria-labelledby=\"headingtax-filers-how-to-document-2023-income\" data-bs-parent=\"#dependentsub\"><div class=\"accordion-body\">\n<p>*Dependent students must also document the parental income. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Choose one of the following options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Option 1: &nbsp;Utilize the FUTURE Act Data Exchange (FA-DDX) to import the tax return information directly into the FAFSA.
