The 2025 special will premiere on Monday, December 8 at 6:00 PM on MTSU\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/truebluetv\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">True Blue TV<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/mtsunews\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">YouTube channels<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cJoys of the Season\u201d will re-air on True Blue TV throughout the month of December, on NewsChannel 5+ in the Nashville market on Sundays at 6:30 p.m. beginning Dec. 14 through Jan. 4, and three special broadcasts on Nashville PBS.<br><br>The PBS premiere date is Friday, December 19, at 8:00 PM, which will also include the airing of the 2024 \u201cJoys of the Season\u201d concert at 8:30 PM. Nashville PBS will re-air the 2025 special on Sunday, December 21 at 6:30 PM and on Thursday, December 25 at 5:30 PM.<br><br>The 2023, 2024, and 2025 editions of \u201cJoys of the Season\u201d are also available for streaming via the PBS app and website. Highlights included:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Musical Theatre<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Professor Kristi Shamburger\u2019s students performed the energetic Broadway classic&nbsp;<em>\u201cTurkey Lurkey Time\u201d&nbsp;<\/em>from&nbsp;<em>\u201cPromises, Promises\u201d<\/em>&nbsp;<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Dance<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Two delightful selections from&nbsp;<em>The Nutcracker<\/em>, \u201cCandy Cane\u201d and \u201cHot Chocolate,\u201d directed by&nbsp;dance faculty&nbsp;Kim Holt&nbsp;<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Art<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 A family craft segment creating <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/mtsuarts\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/63\/2025\/12\/DebrahSicklerVoigtOrnamentInstructions.pdf\" data-type=\"attachment\" data-id=\"251\">homemade ornaments<\/a> led by&nbsp;art professor&nbsp;Dr.\u202fDebrah Sickler-Voigt<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Music<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Performances by Schola Cantorum (\u201cO, Come All Ye Faithful\u201d), directed by Dr.\u202fWill Chandler, and the MTSU Bassoon Ensemble (\u201cHave Yourself a Merry Little Christmas\u201d), led by Dr.\u202fStaci Spring.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-content-justification-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-buttons-is-layout-a89b3969 wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/mtsuarts\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/63\/2025\/12\/DebrahSicklerVoigtOrnamentInstructions.pdf\">Homemade Ornament Instructions <\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"ratio ratio-16x9\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"&#039;Joys of the Season&#039; | &quot;Out of the Blue&quot; Special Edition - December 2025\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/u2o4pndufhk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\" \/>\n\n\n\n<p><br>\u201cJoys of the Season 2024\u201d featured performances by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>MTSU\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/theatreanddance.mtsu.edu\/\">Department of Theatre and Dance<\/a>&nbsp;performed \u201cTwelve Days to Christmas,\u201d from the musical \u201c<em>She Loves Me<\/em>,\u201d directed by associate professor and department chair&nbsp;Kristi Shamburger<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/music.mtsu.edu\/CelloStudies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MTSU Cello Ensemble<\/a>, representing the School of Music\u2019s Instrumental Performance Program, performed \u201cHalls Upon the Merry Housetop,\u201d arranged by assistant professor&nbsp;Bryan Hayslett.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>MTSU&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/art.mtsu.edu\/\">Department of Art and Design<\/a>&nbsp;professor and coordinator of art education&nbsp;Debrah Sickler-Voigt&nbsp;showed how to make a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/mtsuarts\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/63\/2024\/11\/JoysoftheSeasonRecipe.pdf\">one of a kind stamped flour clay ornament with a haiku<\/a>. This is the first time the annual \u201cJoys of the Season\u201d program has had a holiday craft segment.<br><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>MTSU&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/program\/dance-b-s\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dance Program<\/a>&nbsp;students performed \u201cWaltz of the Flowers,\u201d choreographed by dance lecturer&nbsp;Kim Holt.
