The plan, branded\u00a0MT Engage\u2014which was announced\u00a0in the fall 2014\u2014will continue to be\u00a0developed over the course of this\u00a0fiscal year.<\/p>\n<p>MT Engage focuses on providing\u00a0professional development to faculty\u00a0that helps infuse existing courses with\u00a0high-impact, engaging pedagogy. The\u00a0intended result is an increased ability\u00a0by our students to use integrative and\u00a0reflective thinking, to enhance student\u00a0academic engagement, to foster a\u00a0University-wide culture of engaged\u00a0learning, and, in the end, to improve\u00a0student retention and graduation.<\/p>\n<p>I encourage each of you to read the\u00a0draft of the plan and make suggestions\u00a0so that we can produce the best QEP\u00a0possible. Representatives of the\u00a0SACSCOC will visit our campus in\u00a0March 2016 to review our compliance\u00a0audit and our QEP. We will then fully\u00a0launch MT Engage in fall 2016.<\/p>\n<p>I want to thank the faculty, staff, and\u00a0administrators who are serving on the\u00a0committee to accomplish these goals.\u00a0I also wish to thank those who have\u00a0provided feedback and who attended\u00a0the open forums this past spring.
