Importantly, the\u00a0development of our new Quality\u00a0Enhancement Plan (QEP), as part of the reaccreditation\u00a0process, is well underway. A draft of the plan, branded MT\u00a0Engage\u2014which was announced in the fall of 2014\u2014is\u00a0available to the campus community on the QEP web site\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/QEP\/submission_draft.php\">http:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/QEP\/submission_draft.php<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the ongoing effort to have broad-based\u00a0involvement into the plan, I invite faculty, staff and\u00a0administrators to read the plan to provide feedback to the\u00a0QEP chair, Dianna Rust, or subcommittee chairs, Jason\u00a0Vance, Lara Daniel and Michelle Boyer-Pennington. The\u00a0on-site review of the QEP will be March 29-31.<\/p>\n<p>MT Engage seeks to create a culture in which students\u00a0become actively engaged in their learning. This will\u00a0be accomplished by supporting faculty who seek to\u00a0incorporate high-impact engagement pedagogies into their\u00a0teaching. The second key piece of MT Engage is getting\u00a0students to reflect and think about their learning. Each\u00a0MT Engage-designated course will require students to\u00a0complete at least one assignment that fosters integrative\u00a0thinking and reflection.\u00a0Examples of this work will\u00a0be collected in personalized\u00a0ePortfolios, which will\u00a0become showcases for\u00a0students\u2019 integration of\u00a0the knowledge, skills, and\u00a0abilities gained during their\u00a0time at MTSU.<\/p>\n<p>I would like to thank each\u00a0member of the MT Engage\u00a0Development Committee for their efforts to create a\u00a0successful plan that will enhance student\u2019s satisfaction with\u00a0their learning and improve student learning outcomes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The compliance audit for our reaffirmation of accreditation\u00a0by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools\u00a0Commission on Colleges\u00a0(SACSCOC) will be submitted in\u00a0the coming weeks.
