MTSU鈥檚 guitar performance program emphasizes artistic development by maximizing technical skill and a wide variety of competencies. 聽A strong foundation in classical technique is coupled with theoretical knowledge and the study of various styles to produce guitarists of a professional level. The goals, personal interests, and creativity of guitar students are valued and promoted, so that each graduate can find their individual path to success. Continuing education on the graduate level is encouraged as many MTSU grads have earned both master's and doctorate degrees in music at prestigious universities.
