Member, Guest Pass, & Locker Information


Memberships

MTSU Students enrolled full-time and Faculty/Staff employed full-time receive automatic memberships. We offer several membership options for those who do not fall into those categories.

Please note that some programs and services require an active membership, while others do not. There may also be additional costs. Visit each program/service webpage or contact Campus Rec for details.

MTSU Students

Undergraduate Students

Full-time undergraduate students are enrolled in 12 or more credits.

Cost

Membership cost is covered in the Recreation Fee, so there is no additional cost!

How to Obtain

No action is needed! Memberships are activated after the tuition payment deadline and automatically applied.

Cost

Recreation Fees are adjusted by the University based on the number of credits you are enrolled in.

Your cost is adjusted to pay the difference between what you have covered in your fees and the amount paid by full-time students.

The same membership structure above applies to the Summer semester.

Students MUST have been enrolled in the Spring semester of that calendar year to be eligible for a membership.

MTSU Faculty, Staff, & Retirees

Full-time employees receive a membership as a part of the University Benefits package.

Cost

Membership cost is covered as a part of the University benefits package, so there is no additional cost for membership. Please note that some programs and services have additional costs.

How to Obtain

No action is needed! Memberships are activated after your employment paperwork is processed and automatically applied.

This includes those who are employed by MTSU in adjunct, temp/hourly, and contract positions.

Memberships can be purchased for 1, 2, or 3 semesters. A discount is applied to multi-semester memberships.

MTSU Alumni & Affiliates

This includes anyone who has previously enrolled and completed a course (including course audits) at MTSU is eligible to purchase a membership.

Add-on Memberships

Eligibility

Immediate family members (partners and/or dependents 25 years or younger) can be added to Individual Memberships. Children 4 years of age and younger are free.

The Individual Membership must remain active for the additional family member to be active.

Cost

Memberships can be purchased for 1, 2, or 3 semesters. A discount is applied to multi-semester memberships. Additional Family Member memberships can only be renewed in person.

Only 1 semester can be purchased at a time if adding Additional Family Members to a Student Membership as enrollment of the Student Member must be verified each semester

How to Obtain
  • Visit the Membership Office at the Rec Center
    • The person with the active Individual Membership and family members 16 and older being added both need to be present
  • Bring a photo ID for anyone 16 and older and payment (card, cash, or check)
  • The additional family member(s) will receive a Campus Rec Membership card required for entry
    • Family members 16 years and older will have their picture taken for the card
    • Those under 16 will not have their picture taken

Accessing the Rec Center

To access the Rec Center, you must have your BlueID, Campus Rec Membership Card, or the Campus Recreation app.

  • You must have your physical BlueID or Membership Card – pictures of these cards will not be accepted
  • Download the Campus Rec app from the  or  (search “MTSU Campus Rec”).

Parking

Visit to obtain a parking permit for campus and view the parking map for their specific permit. Campus Rec cannot provide parking permits to current MTSU Students, Faculty, Staff, or Alumni.

Cost

$10 per parking permit. The permits are valid for the semester.

How to Obtain

Permits can be purchased at the same time as your membership. You will need your license plate number to purchase a parking permit.

Parking Permits purchased from Campus Rec are only valid in select parking lots. A map can be provided at the time of purchase.


Guest Passes

Campus Rec Members are eligible to purchase day-passes for guests.

Please review the important information below and Guest Pass Policies in advance.

Important Information
  • Both the member and the guest must be present to purchase the pass
  • Guests ages 16+ must provide a valid ID
  • Guests under the age of 18 must be a dependent of the member or bring the complete Minor Guest Waiver
  • Guest passes are valid only for the day they are purchased
  • Members can sponsor up to 2 guests at a time and must remain with their guest(s) for the entire visit
  • Guests must follow all Guest Pass Policies
Cost

$10 per guest for the day. Guest passes are nonrefundable.

How to Obtain
  • Monday-Friday: visit the Membership Office during open hours
  • Saturday & Sunday: passes will be sold from open until 1.5 hours before the facility closes. See the Welcome Desk if you need to purchase a Guest Pass.

Locker Rentals

Campus Rec Members can check out locks for day-use lockers at no cost, or pay to rent a locker for 1-3 semesters.

Items must be cleared out by the end of each day. Any items remaining will be removed by the staff.

Free for all Campus Rec members!

How to Obtain

Check out a lock at the Equipment Desk, located across from the stairs and climbing wall in the Rec Atrium. Please have your BlueID or Campus Rec Membership Card ready.

Members can rental a locker for 1-3 semester. This allows you to keep belongings at the Rec, such as shower items.
