Financial Aid

The portions of Self-Service Banner related to Financial Aid menu functions are live as of November 17, 2025.

To access financial aid related functions in PipelineMT, go to the Financial Aid menu. If you do not have a Financial Aid menu, this is likely because a FAFSA is not on file yet. If you need assistance getting started with the process, reach out to the MT One Stop at [email protected] and they are able to assist with all financial aid related questions.

There are several links on the page that link to the FAFSA, forms, and financial aid website to help guide the financial aid process. The icon menu leads to the pages to find missing requirements, award information, messages, and eligibility. Most icons take you to a new window, and once there it is important to choose the correct aid year. An aid year starts in the fall semester and runs through the following summer. For example, the 2025-2026 aid year would start in Fall 2025 and be effective for Spring and Summer 2026. The following aid year, 2026-2027, would start in Fall 2026. Students may need to complete requirements in multiple years depending on what semester they begin.

The Requirements and Holds icon leads to the Home screen in Financial Aid, where you can see any missing requirements for an aid year. Most requirements can be completed online through various forms, but any questions can be answered by the MT One Stop.

The Awards/Terms & Conditions icon leads to another menu to select links to financial aid award information. Here you can accept scholarships, loans, and other awards. The link Award for Aid Year will take you to the most recent aid year awards.

The Coursework Toward Program of Study (CPOS) link is an important resource to check every semester. This is where you can see if your courses are all applying towards financial aid eligibility. Usually it takes 24-48 hours for this to update once you register or adjust your schedule. This page will reflect if you are reported as not attending, eligible classes, repeated classes, and the total number of eligible hours for federal aid. If you are in courses that are not eligible, it could impact how much aid you receive. The MT One Stop can help explain the impact of eligible classes on your financial aid, while your academic advisor can assist in finding classes that are eligible towards your degree program.

Within the Financial Aid menu, and by clicking on the Status icon, you can view your current overall financial aid eligibility. This is called “Satisfactory Academic Progress” or SAP.

The icon Active Messages will take you to the menu titled Notifications. This is where you will find important messages sent to you by the Financial Aid office, as well as withdrawal information if you had to drop from classes. Typically an email is sent telling you to check these messages if one exists.

The Resources menu within Finanical Aid provides critical information about the Terms and Conditions for financial aid each year. This is an important document to read and refer to so that you stay eligible for all financial aid.
